Between the disappointment caused by Fallout 4, Fallout 76' disastrous reception, and Elder Scrolls 6's still uncertain release date, Bethesda Game Studios clearly isn't in the fans' good graces. Will they make a comeback or do you foresee a continuous decline in their reputation?

Not anytime soon. They've proven to be unwilling to take any criticism into consideration or show any respect for what their audience is actively asking for. Still not sure who Fallout 76 is supposed to be for, because every genre it could fall under has dozens of complete games that do everything 76 does, but much better.

theyre literally banning people modding in resolution fixes into 76 and making them write fucking essays saying how cheating is bad to get unzucced.

Bethesda will be lucky to have a name barely worth spitting on by the end of February 2019.

Come on, Bethesda really didn't fuck up that bad. They made one game that wasn't a masterpiece and then decided to try something new. This doesn't mean the end of bethesda lol

have you just been living under a fucking rock for the past two weeks? Bethesda has been fucking up non-stop since then.

- released an unfinished game (one that deleted itself on the very first day of "playability")
- refused refunds if you DOWNLOADED the game
- changed one of the collectors edition items at the very last second because it was "too expensive" (from canvas bags to nylon bags), and tried to compensate people for their 200 dollar purchase having a huge change with 5 dollars of their micro-transaction currency
- after outrage, allowed people to request refunds/replacements with the actual products they paid for in regards to the special edition, which then ended up releasing 60+ people's personal information to the public
- has made plans to add lootboxes to their game with game-changing (non-cosmetic) items inside despite saying they won't add lootboxes (files in the game pertained to this)
- lied about what the game would be, and how much work went into it
- banned 76 players who modded their game to fix resolution issues and said that you need to write them an essay on why cheating is bad to have your account unbanned.

they also sent the canvas bags that were "too expensive" to influencers as promotional material before their change to the nylon stuff for the general consumers.

they just need to make a new engine, the creation engine is so outdated.
A new engine could help definitely, but I think developing one now would probably set their projects back years. I think they should just license one for now,but you know Bethesda isn't about to cough up that type of money.

if Bethesda just focused on making the gamebryo engine functional instead of adding all this cinematic bullshit it'd be a fine engine. But no you gotta have the 10 second animation for breaking a limb, critical meleeing, and getting into power armour ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

every other game that's used gamebryo and worked on making it work as an engine instead of being pretty to look at functions perfectly fine.

they're a AAA company, they cannot market a game that looks like shit, they have to make it seem cinematic.

-Bethesda games have always been buggy, and that was a beta. Even Todd Howard said it would be extremely buggy.
-That's not that big of a deal. Try opening up a new game and then requesting a refund.
-And? The bag was just something to hold the actual collectors item the power armor helmet. And they made it right didn't they?
-They made an honest mistake. Why would that cause their downfall
-Most of that is just speculation.
-No they didn't.
-If you try to mod a multiplayer game you will be banned. Their intentions are irrelevant. It's honestly nice that Bethesda is giving them a chance to be unbanned.

I don't get the hate Bethesda gets about the creation engine. Sure it's buggy, but they kinda need it to make games the way they do. They probably couldn't have so many interactive objects without it.

alright well if you're just gonna act like bethesda is this saint of a company then I'll take the conversation to people who don't live in dreamworld.

This. I would’ve said yes up to the release of 76, but they have shown that they are so out of touch with their core audience it’s ridiculous. Even if Starfield is a great game, it will still likely be marred by the absolute shitstorm of PR nightmares swirling around 76. Once you lose their trust, gamers don’t forgive that easily.

The engine gets hate cuz it's outdated. Other companies are making newer engines with the same capabilities, while Bethesda just updates their frankly tiring to use Creation Engine.
